Cilvy works with individuals, couples and families since 1984 as a Psychotherapist and as a Sexologist. She first was trained in Montréal area in Psychodynamic and enjoyed working in Psychiatry, with a niche in stress and trauma. Cilvy was so young as a therapist that she decided to teach from High School level to University to gain some maturity. Along the way, Cilvy developed an extensive expertise working with domestic violence and recovery from sexual and other addictions.
She moved to Sudbury in 1998. She then opened a private practice as a Psychotherapist and Sexologist using an eclectic approach including Narrative, CBT, DBT and EMDR. She was first recruited as a Transformative Family Mediator back in 1998, by a colleague who was looking for somebody “who could zealously help couples and families separate peacefully, creatively and wisely, and who would do so in a “transformative” way because of her values, her engaged way of leading and her education.”
Since then, she gave birth to a child living with numerous special needs and brings her special knowledge to help even more families with simple to complex situations. She shares an office with 3 other Registered Psychotherapists on Elm Street. Cilvy brings her extensive experience along as she is now joining the Sudbury Collaborative Law.
